1. Service Agreement
By engaging DSR Logistics Private Limited for any service (moving, packing, storage, transport, loading), you agree to these terms. A specific contract per move/service may include additional terms specific to that engagement.
2. Quote Validity
Quotes are valid for 30 days from issue date unless otherwise specified. Peak season (Durga Puja, Diwali, summer holidays) may have shorter validity. After validity expires, new quote required.
3. Pricing & Payment
- 50% advance payable at booking confirmation
- Balance payable at delivery/service completion
- Payment methods: bank transfer, UPI, credit/debit card, cash (subject to limits)
- GST applied per current regulations (typically 18% for moving services under HSN 9968)
- Late payment (beyond 7 days): 2% per month interest applicable
4. Cancellation & Rescheduling
- 48+ hours before move: full advance refund
- 24-48 hours before: 50% advance refund
- Under 24 hours: no refund (crew and vehicle already allocated)
- Reschedule without penalty if done 48+ hours before
- Force majeure (medical emergencies, natural disasters): case-by-case, typically full refund
5. Liability & Insurance
- Basic liability: included in all services (covers documented minimum per terms)
- Transit insurance: optional, strongly recommended for outstation (~3% of declared value)
- Declared value: customer's responsibility; undeclared high-value items limit coverage
- Claims: photo evidence required; processed within 7 business days
- Excluded: pre-existing damage, items not listed in inventory, items of unusually high value without declaration
6. Customer Obligations
- Provide accurate inventory and addresses at booking
- Ensure access to property at scheduled times
- Remove personal items (valuables, documents, medications) from packed goods โ DSR not responsible
- Pay balance at delivery (per contract)
- Sign inventory confirmation at pickup and delivery
7. Items We Cannot Handle
- Hazardous materials (chemicals, gas cylinders, paints, aerosols, flammables)
- Perishables (food, plants, animals)
- Illegal items or unlicensed firearms
- Cash, jewellery, and documents (customer responsibility)
- Items prohibited under law
8. Warehouse & Storage Terms
- Minimum 1-month billing for standard storage
- Month-to-month rolling unless contracted otherwise
- Access during business hours with 24-hour notice
- DSR reserves right to inspect contents for safety/compliance
- Unpaid storage beyond 90 days: DSR may exercise lien rights per contract
- Items unclaimed beyond 180 days may be disposed per contract terms
9. Force Majeure
DSR is not liable for delays or failures due to circumstances beyond reasonable control: natural disasters, strikes, government actions, war, civil unrest, road closures, pandemics, or similar events. We will communicate proactively and work toward resolution.
10. Dispute Resolution
- Disputes first addressed via direct communication (call/email/office visit)
- Unresolved disputes: mediation via mutually agreed mediator
- Legal disputes: Kolkata courts have exclusive jurisdiction
- Governing law: Laws of India, State of West Bengal
11. Changes to Terms
DSR may update these terms. Material changes communicated via website notice. Continuing to use services after update constitutes acceptance.
